Laura Ritter

Director

Laura Ritter is the founder and artistic director of Young Voices of the Foohills.  After serving as choral director and department chair at Walters State Community College in Morristown, TN, she relocated to South Carolina and is currently on staff at Anderson University.  Laura is the Minister of Music at First Baptist Greenville and works with area high schools and middle schools as an accompanist.  She is an active member of the American Choral Director’s Association and Choristers’s Guild.  Laura earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Furman University and a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Illinois.  In addition to her work with churches and choirs, Laura has been heavily involved with musical theatre and has music directed shows at Clemson Little Theatre, Centre Stage of Greenville, and Encore Theatrical Company in Tennessee.

Salleigh Harvey
Michelle Ross

Co-Director

Michelle Ross taught choir at Liberty Middle and High Schools for 5 years before transitioning to a career as a freelance musician.  In addition to her work with Young Voices, she accompanies at Anderson University, Seneca High School, West Oak High School, and Daniel High School.  She has a degree in Music Education from the University of Washington and is currently pursuing a Master of Music Education from Clemson University.

Carla Brock

Director of Seneca Middle Choir

Carla Brock spent 29 years as the choral director at Seneca Middle School.  She was selected Teacher of the Year in 2004-2005, received National Board Certification In Vocal Music in 2002 and recertified in 2012 and 2022.  She served the SCMEA Choral Division as Secretary and as Chair of the Middle School Clinic Committee. The SMS choirs under her direction have consistently received superior ratings at state, regional and national competitions, as well as a large number selected yearly for All-State Honor Choirs and regional and national honor choirs. She has a Bachelor of Music degree with a vocal performance certificate from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of Georgia.

Salleigh Harvey, mezzo soprano, is a native of Greenville, SC.
A classically- trained vocalist and pianist, Ms. Harvey enjoys teaching, coaching, and accompanying singers of all ages. Most recently, Ms. Harvey was a collaborative pianist at the University of Colorado-Boulder in
Boulder, CO where she coached undergraduates in the musical theatre department. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Furman University and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati
College-Conservatory of Music. When she isn’t teaching or performing, Ms. Harvey can be found in the kitchen, developing recipes for an upcoming cookbook.
